1998 European Championships in Crete, Greece
My second European IPSC Championships. A hord of us stayed two weeks in Crete at a resort where we thoroughly got to sample Greek food. I went for a swim in the ocean every morning before shooting. It was a four day match, 24 stages with a break for the World Assembly meetings. Saul and I spent that day scuba diving.

From the shoot-off; Saul Kirsch to my left, Angus and Eric to the right.

Nice uniform, ey? That gun was built by Jake Kempton
of, at the time, Accuracy Speaks in Arizona.
The red Safariland 011 holster blended in nicely.
|

Eric, myself and Johan formed EuroTeam in 1996.
We sported Tanfoglio, Aimpoint, Starline,
Pro Ears and Vectan powders.

Every stage had a mythological theme read to us as
part of the briefing. Here, I'm wearing the lions cape.
My Pro Ears functioned as a shock buffer to my head...
we shot while resting the hatch on the head.

Eddie and Angus. Angus and I arranged it so that we
could shoot on the same squad. We had a great time.
|

My good friends Patric and Denisa Staudt who made
the uniforms. They own Ballistic Couture which
manufactures bullet proof clothing for VIPs.

Angus shooting strong in open class,
placing second and promoting
the Spanish SPS pistols

Tanfoglio was the match sponsor who cashed in
big time with Eric winning his first European Championships and me taking third place.

Part of our group staying at the resort. Some of the guys rented scooters for transportation, which you'll see a result of to the left..
My shirt says "No job, no girl, no money....
No Problem." A philosophy I subscribe to.
