2005 Becoming an American Citizen

I've been coming to the United States since 1994. In 1997 I was lucky enough to win the greencard lottery. Doing so allowed me to embrace the United States as my permanent home. So far I've lived in California, Arizona and Colorado. I've always been attracted to the American way of life and on September 28th I pledged my allegiance to the United States and became a citizen.

Since I've always wanted to become a cowboy
I thought it was appropriate to at least somewhat
dress in a western style for the occasion.
(trust me, I'm wearing cowboy boots).

Picture taken with the Director of Immigration
and his assistant after the ceremony
in Denver, Colorado.

About 400 people from 65 different countries
became citizens during the same ceremony.

At the Naturalization ceremony I was interviewed by
the MET Report. Watch the Video
My friends Harvey, Carlos, Ken and Paul Hyland
(taking the picture) showed up and gave their support.
Thanks to Paul for taking all the pictures.

And now I can finally say...
I'm proud to be an American !
