The 36 Hours of Keystone Team Challenge!

Keystone Ski Resort in Summit County, Colorado...

TEAM AVERY, our three person team met the challenge and skied from 9am on Friday, through the night until 9pm on Saturday. Along with hundreds of other teams we skied, froze, skied some more, froze some more and skied again until we had skied for 36 hours straight.  Each run represents about 3,000 vertical feet. We lost count of how many times we did it, but giving a safe estimate our team skied at least 500,000 vertical feet in 36 hours.

Check out the Keystone Resort pages for more info on 36 hours of Keystone.

John Fodor (Boulder, CO), Charles Debruyn (Lake Arrowhead, CA) and myself (Louisville, CO)
at 9pm on Saturday night. John heroically took the night shift from 1:30am until 7:30am.
It dropped to -10 Fahrenheit (-23 Celsius) that night..

Video of us waiting in line for the Gondola..

We brought 6 pairs of skis..., just in case.

Charles started out with my Volkl's
which is a mediocre All-Mountain ski.
It was his 6th day of skiing.. ever.
After 20 some hours I let him try the Extrem's
and his life as a skiier was changed forever ;-)

My Atomic Giant Slalom race skis on the left.

John in his yellow pants.

Worked great in cold weather and
it was at least easy to spot him.

The Black Bear Lodge provdided us with a great
base-camp where our, Team Captain, Diann
had food prepared for us.
