2006 USPSA Area 3 Championship
Driving out it looked like it was going to be shit weather. I brought a rain jacket and was ready to tuck down behind the windshield, but funny enough the sun made it a beautiful match to shoot. Area 3 with Manny in charge delivered 10 solid stages with higher than average difficulty level which we like to see!. Lots of little tricky stuff and targets that makes you think you can shoot faster than you should.
Unfortunately "The Council" had to rule and gave it one "This is Bullshit" for putting us through two weakhand stages in the same match. Manny wasn't present when the ruling was done so he had - ... - no saying in it...
Shannon Smith on stage 1. He posted several
very fast and solid scores throughout the
match.

Stage 10. Can you hit 6 poppers and make the clam
shell? It was doable. Manny called me later and
laughed at my "ludacris speed" of 11.20 seconds.

Roger Briden from my home club drove out with his
camper and enjoyed himself in Kansas.

Manny shot the match on Thursday, flew up to
Area 1, shot it on Friday and came back to help
score the rest of the match on Saturday. He won both
area matches in Limited! Still the "Council" thinks his
two weakhand stages were - "Bullshit"! Is he
trying to get us ready for Nationals or something?
I ended up taking home 3 stage wins which is all I can
brag about. Had several other stages almost in my
pocket, but I got the best of myself in a state of
ludacrisness...

"The Squirrel", Ted Puente, again took home the
Limited 10 title. Solid shooting, no penalties.

We were squadded together and I enjoy
his company very much.
