Match & Team Presentation
2006 International Tactical Rifleman’s
Championships (ITRC)
August 11 – 13, Gillette, Wyoming

About the match
This match is an outdoor, cross country three gun competition utilizing rifle, carbine, and handgun in a physically demanding and equipment-hostile environment for three days.

The D&L Sports Small Arms Training Academy annual International Tactical Rifleman's Championship is considered the proving ground for tactical marksmen and their equipment. This match will test both skill and gear against top competitors from around the world. The primary focus of this competition is tactical marksmanship.

The match is a grueling three-day team event held in Northeast Wyoming. Teams of two riflemen will engage the courses of fire. On the long range rifle field courses, one carbine shooter will engage targets from 0-500 yards and the rifleman will engage targets from 0-1000 yards. Most carbine targets will be 0-300 and most rifle targets will be 0-600.  The short-range course will demonstrate pistol and rifle/carbine skills.

All courses of fire demand movement from the team across varied rugged terrain.  Target distances are unknown to the competitors.  Additionally there are obstacle courses, Zodiac boats, shooting from a helicopter in flight, and from the back of a moving Humvee.  There is a pistol shoot house, and a team-on-team speed event.

Competitors
Typical attendees include active military sniper teams, law enforcement hostage rescue, SWAT, and trained civilian marksmen.  All competitors are in teams of two.
