2006 Rocky Mountain 300
The second annual held in Weld County, Colorado was very windy, blowing sand everywhere.. but hey, that's Colorado for you. RM 300? So, what does the 300 mean? 300 stands for 300 rounds count match, but get this ... it's only five stages. The highest round count being 64 and the lowest 58. Bring your big sticks... or lots of mags.

Targets are... everywhere. This was a great field course, and a little bigger than usual... ("Sudden Impact")

Match Directory, Jerry Westcott scoring under
harsh wind conditions.

"Any Which Way You Can"
RM300 is for sure running and gunning
|
|
|

"The Gauntlet", all steel...
|

Don't know if you can really call this riding a horse...
This year's theme was Clint Eastwood movies,
every stage having a movie name.
Paul as "Pale Rider"
|

Some people have started to call these types of matches "Bubble Gum".
We still had fun and enjoyed free bubble gum :-)
|

You'd think double stack mags would have solved
this issue, but when you're shooting Limited 10
and need to shoot at least 60 rounds...
be prepared like Wes
|

We don't see this creature very often.
The split-popper is very cool, and it is possible for the
bullet to pass between them... Now, that would suck. But sometimes one bullet takes them both down..
so you have to ask yourself:..
"Do you feel lucky, Punk? Well, do you?"
|

Second day of the match is a $10 sign-up shootoff,
where the top three takes the cash home.
The shootoff format works really well using a
handicap system, where all level of shooters can
compete against each other in a way that gives
everyone a chance.
|

The D-class shooters have to hit 6 poppers.
The number of poppers gradually increases up to a
max of 10 poppers for the GM / Masters.
Makes it tougher and more interesting
that you'd think...
