2006 Ski Week

Sometimes things just work out and a bunch of your friends show up in town on the same week. It's Ski Week 2006 !

Henning and Bjørn skiing in Vail, Keystone
and Breckenridge.

"Downtown" Vail

Bjørn creating fresh tracks down "Genghis Kahn" in Vail. We had 5" of fresh powder that morning plus the 8" from the day before.

Oh yeah, we were on the first chair..

There's no extreme skiing without accidents...
Bjørn caught an edge downhilling Sundown bowl,
the ski came loose and split his forhead open...
We continued skiing and he had 6 stiches put in
the next day.

Beautiful view from the top of Peak 8 in Breckenridge. Ski over the edge and you'll be able to enjoy The Whale's Tail.

Breckenridge's Imperial Express is the highest ski lift in
North America; 12,840 feet above sea level.

We drove up to Braynard Lake @ 9,200 feet to see if we
could get the Hummer stuck... and we did.
Matt and Nidaa during the rescue effort.

We had to give up on getting Brian's rental H3 out of
the snow. Finally we had to ask a Jeep to help us out...

Coincidence? I think not !

Bjørn flew in from Oslo for a week of skiing,
Brian and Nidaa came up from Phoenix for the weekend,
Mark and Lisa flew in from Salt Lake and on top of that
Matt was in town from Michigan.

Except for late-arrival Matt, we all went to the Sister's of Mercy
concert in Denver on Thursday.

Note the Fischer WorldCup GS Bjørn was racing down
the mountains with.

They are superfast Giant Slalom skis.
