2007 USPSA Area 2 - Rio Salado Desert Classic (20th Annual)
At the end of every season there is always USPSA's Area 2, the Desert Classic. Famous for being one of the and probably the best match in the US. They always put on a good show for the 350+ competitors. This year turned into a roller coaster ride of a competition between myself, Taran Butler and Mike Voigt in Limited Divison. We all had our ups and downs and it was a battle until the end. Saul Kirsch came over from Holland to win Open, followed by Christian Wilda from Germany. Christian has his own day-by-day report on his website. If you are going to pick one match to shoot in the US next year, this one is it. Another good things is that the prize table is huge so everybody's happy.
And of course many thanks to my sponsor; BrianEnos.com who got me a slot for the match and showed up to take pictures and videos of us in squad 13.
Match Results
Our last stage (9), intense with lots of targets
from the last position. Good stage with just enough
difficulty to make it a great challenge.

After engaging a few more targets, you had to
run through a wooden hummer to get to the next
shooting position. Picture by Brian Enos

The lowest hit factor stage of the match (8),
aiming required and lots of setups. I aimed and still
dropped lots of points. Yong took the victory on
this one. Here's my friend Mark Waki from Utah.

The baby carriage stage (6) where you had to
pick up the baby and hold it (or bite it as I did)
while shooting the three first targets. We had
lots of fun with the baby dummy.

wooden hummer on stage 3.
