Brian Enos Products
I met Brian for the first time briefly in Bisley, England in 1993 at the World Shoot. Next year, 1994 I went to Arizona to focus on shooting full time. At the famous Rio Salado shooting range outside Apache Junction, my friend Ivar and I were spending every day out in the blazing sun. Shooting Greats Arnt Myhre, Rob Leatham, Don Golembieski, Doug Boykin, Jack Barnes and Brian Enos could show up at the middle of any day to practice or for the local Tuesday Night Steel battle before pizza at Vito's. Those were great days that can still be experienced at the Rio Salado Sportsman's Club. Over the years competing and finding a common ground, Brian became one of my best friends in life. Backtracking a little bit, when I started getting serious about IPSC in 1991 - 1992, his book "Beyond Fundamentals" explained different kinds of mental focus and a professional take on this, to me, new sport, that had caught my attention and eventually caused me to quit my day job. It provided ideas and information that nobody was talking about in my local club. Not to say that I or anyone cannot think for ourselves and figure these things out, but it takes a tremendous amount of dedication to one single thing to understand what is truly going on. In yesterday's practice I observed what I was doing at a level I haven't before. It was a real joy and at the same time so simple. It felt like unlayering a small piece of what is going on when I pull the trigger. I noticed exactly where my shot was going and I understood why my grouping was on the right side of my the target. It feelt good and it felt like an improved sense of grip of what I'm doing when I shoot. Brian has already been there and he takes the time to explain it. His book, our conversations, our friendship has meant a lot on many levels of my life. It feels good to inventory and recommend his products in my store.
A quick word on Slide-Glide. I was there when he first started using it and it has evolved into a lubrication that has taken the shooting community aback. Here's Brian's take on Slide-Glide:
Slide-Glide provides a dramatic improvement in lubrication compared to conventional oils and greases such as lithium, or lithium-based metallic greases containing molybdenum or graphite. Additionally, it is engineered to have a stringy characteristic that prevents "tracking" or shearing on sliding metal surfaces. It stays put - ceaselessly dragging itself back into the friction areas of the cycling slide and barrel. It's stringy characteristic keeps the grease between the moving parts - noticeably softening the felt recoil of semi-atuomatic pistols. Your pistol just feels “smoother” when you shoot it.
