| EAA Witness: Wolff Gun Springs Why go after market springs? There are a couple of reasons why I am a big fan of Wolff Gun Springs. First of all I have a steady supply of then and I can duplicate my hammer spring and recoil spring setup from gun to gun. Sometimes the factory will change spring weight from one year to the next and if I don't know it can be very difficult to pinpoint why my the new gun suddenly shoots and feels differently. Secondly by using Wolff's reduced weight weight hammer springs I am able to lighten up the trigger pull and create a nicer trigger. If you do put in a lighter hammer spring, note that I recommend installing the Henning X-Long Firing Pin (available for large frame only). This will eliminate misfires forever! |

Wolff Magazine Spring
Extra power magazine springs help improve feeding. Highly recommended for anyone having magazine problems with 10mm and 38 super using factory followers. Cut one coil when used with plastic or short bsae pads (H-400, H-520). Use full length with H-141. |

Wolff Recoil Springs
The absolute leader in recoil springs and my first choice when upgrading the guns. Available in 6lb (non-compensated guns, steel loads), 8lb (compensated guns, steel loads), 10lb (major, ipsc loads) and 12lb (major, ipsc loads). Henning's Comment:
I've suggested two choices for steel loads and major loads. What works best varies on your individual gun caliber/setup and loads. I suggest trying different springs to see what functions best in your gun with your load and what feels best for you. I do not recommend less than 10lb springs for major loads! |
